I came up with a goofy variant of polarwid's classic name it game. Be forewarned, this trivia game is less entertaining than polarwid's, primarily because there will be no pictures. The basic idea is that I'll give you a climbing area and then a clue that refers to a specific route (or formation). Using this information, your job is to identify the route etc. Here's an example.
The Clue: A route at Turkey Rocks (South Platte, CO). Or, the fanciful narcoleptic's symptoms?
The Answer: Whimsical Dreams
In case you're still interested, here are four others (each of which refers to better known routes than Whimsical):
1. A route at Devil's Tower. Or, where students wait while trying to enter the school auditorium?
2. A Jimmy Dunn classic in New Hampshire. Or, the sound a falling tree makes when someone is there to hear it?
3. A rock feature just outside of Moab. Or, a royal flush?
4. A Yosemite classic. Or, a stellar guy?

thanks for playing polarwid...I was beginning to feel like the kid in the corner of the playground with no friends :cry: You got them all except number 3. The "correct" answer makes use of the royal part and makes use of poker terminology. I promise it will make sense when you get it (or at least as much sense as the others).

Trad and/or bouldering, mostly SE. Probably too easy:
A classic corner at T-Wall or an entry barrier for overachievment?
This Horsepens 40 classic might be an adolescent vagrant.
A famous western locale's moderate slab could also be a serpentine lesbian.
A well-known T-wall finger crack or a precious metal eaten with bagels?

The "King" part is correct (still missing the poker reference, however)...hint: it is less than 5 minutes outside of Moab, but not in Arches...only a couple little-climbed routes on the feature, but still salient when on the way to a heavy traffic area.

Isn't that the answer to "Why did the chicken cross the road?" or was it the answer to "What's black and white and read all over?"? I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe: identifying the missing link is an old riddle and some might say it is goofy?? obviously, not what you were going for...
oh yeah, and please do cheat at cards ("you got to know when to hold 'em...").

ooh, Atg200 played his "hand" first, Ambler. Now we can move on to things that are big and purple and at the bottom of the sea...I'm thinking it has the word "sailor" in it, but I can't think of the full route name. however, other new hamp routes that come close to providing the answer are "Loose Lips" (cause they sink ships) and "Lost Souls" (assuming they were lost at sea).
