Perhaps, although since he made those remarks 20 years ago, one can hope that he has since become more enlightened.

'Tis one of the more disturbing developments in this 'information age' we're all so fond of. Believe it or not, the commercial has had a very formative effect on the substance of american politics and discourse.
It's equally disturbing as the 'politics as keeping score' mentality...
