So I hope everyone is having a great fall wall season. Any of you aid dirtbags going to Zion during Thanksgiving? I tentatively have plans with a buddy to go (he may go to Bishop to boulder - geez), but if someone else from SoCal is going, I would be happy to ride along and offer gas money, or even partner up with someone who wants to go do stuff and won't bail out to go pebble wrestle. I am out of class Tuesday night at 8pm, so could leave early Wednesday morning if you can. I kind of have my eye on Desert Shield, Swoop Gimp, or the Lowe Route. Already did PS (bailed from P8 like 5 years ago), MB (7 hours), SS (6-ish hours), and LE (1.5 days) and various wankings in the Valley (NA, TT, Zod, TDA, Wet Denim). I aid at C3/A3 and free climb at about 5.4 handcrack (red-point level). Would like to try to do those in a push with the right partner (short fixing), or fix and fire with the wrong partner. Regular partner is doing family crap until the weekend. PM or call me if you want to go or if you just want to give me some gear (I am in the market for a cheap rope gun). I'm in Long Beach. 90 views and no response. That's awesome. Do I really smell that bad? Ok, we can short fix and sleep at different anchors! Anyone? Bueller?

here's my reasons why I hadn't wasted your time (until now) with a response: a) Bike race on saturday - already paid for b) I'm an aid noob - I want to aid climb, but I'm not sure the best way to get started would be to get myself dragged up a wall. Maybe it would be. c) Thanksgiving with the folks for the first time in five years. So, if you want to drag a noob up a wall in the spring, let me know. Otherwise, sorry I can't help, good luck finding a partner. (PS. 'm pretty sure the response count is still b0rked - last I really looked, it was counting by 10s)

Just a "bump" for ya, Paul. Wish I could join you up there next weekend, but I've got family committment stuff. If anyone's wondering who this knuckle-dragger is, he has some excellent experience under his belt and has been an active regular in this forum in years past. I'd rope up with him any day. Ed

Just a general level warning about the Zion area: My buddy and three friends were sitting in camp last weekend (11/12/05) "relaxing" after a hard day of climbing, when out of the darkness comes Johnny Law with his night vision goggles on. Three citations were issued. Need I say more? Other than what a worthless POS (and I ain't talkin bout my buddy, either). Aren't there better things to spend your time doing?
