I think I did that... ONCE!
Substitution is fine. Just use 1/4 to 1/3 of the amount you'd use for powder.

HA! I did that once when I was a kid. It was AWESOME. Foam just started erupting from every possible place - the bottom hinge, especially. Super cool to watch for about one second, the time it took to realize the trouble I'd be in if I didn't stop the machine and get it cleaned up before my mom got home. It was like, "OK, mental note: no liquid soap in the dishwasher." You live, you learn.

How bad was it....
I was laying on the couch in the living room watching tv when I noticed my dog kinda staring at the floor watching like something was kinda drifting by.
When my roomate called to see how I was doing my first weekend in the house the next day (She's gone till January) I said great, I just washed the kitchen floor.
She said, "Awww that was so nice, you did'nt have to do that."
I said, "That's just the kinda guy I am."

It was really bad. I was watching TV and didn't even notice for most of the cycle. Got up to get a drink and couldn't find the kitchen.

I did that like 3 times...
took the bottle of dish soap to trader joes...
said, it's way too concentrated...it's got to be a production issue...
the nice boy...said...
