I've been to this area many times. Unfortunately, I never had time to climb. It is completely safe. No bad guys can get anywhere near it, as the Kurds arrest Arabs driving into the region. There is a great restaurant in the waterfall, as well. If you want to see some really bold climbers, go there on a Thursday or Friday in the summer, when crowds of young guys climb up the rocks in the waterfall without any ropes. They wash out, smash their heads and get right back up climbing.
