Not always, but it is a cycle. Threads start to get a bit frisky, mods allow it to get too far, then they realize "shit the've gone too far!?" So they bitch slap the thread(s) and a bunch of members get disillusioned because of the "nazi" mods/admins and leave. Then community becomes a boring place for 6 months to a year (usually around election time) until a new crop of users come in, push the borders, then get slapped down again.

Fine, steal my ideas you slatern, slutty, SPORT CLIMBER! (guess which is the most insulting modifier of the three?) BUT, I too got a Tgreene PM from beyond the green tarpit door, offering moderation. I choose to moderate almost nothing, except kiddie porn. That might include Clausti! New site created. Let the discreet indescretions roll. My work here is done. Too bad the site name I wanted was not used, but you can't have everything. Yet.

In reply to: Since being tarpitted yesterday, Tgreene has had some extra time on his hands. He has put it to good use and created a 'rogue climbers' forum on his website http://www.gr-outdoors.com/. I'm the moderator! So, come one, come all! Rogue climbers are welcome! I've started a thread to try and get the ball rolling.... Did he really get tarpitted? And for what? Where and when did all this transpire? How did I miss all this action?

This reminds me of The Matrix. The cool part is I talked to greeney on the phone today and he promised to make me a mod too. SAWEET!!!!

Can someone please explain to me why a site set up as a protest against moderation needs moderators?

Tgreene was tarpitted for a month yesterday morning. Initially he was told that it was for 1) posting his photo, and 2) misquoting Dingus (something about a 15 year old Asian boy in Vegas). When he approached the mod about that, he was told it was only because of the misquote. A month for a misquote? So, he's booted for the time being. He can still get PM's and lurk. Crimpie

The above post was placed in community by crimpergirl and then replied to by another member. Below is my PM to crimpergirl. Dammit crimp, the mods and admins do not discuss actions taken against the users. The users on the other hand and in this instance tgreene have chosen to reveal what was a private action. Yes the action was taken not so much for the misquote but it was more taken because of the inference that another member was a pedaphile. It was 13 year old Asian boys not 15 if you must know. You see how the story gets changed so that the tarpitted user seems to have been done a grave injustice. I would take that same action against anyone who infers that one of our good standing members is a pedaphile. Of course this was all discussed in the mods and eds forum and it was a corporate decision. Please do not discuss or quote private messages particularly where it pertains to us taking action against a user for infering that another user was a pedaphile.
