Does anyone have experience ordering from this company? They are located at mammothgear.com and have some nice deals on shoes. Just wondering about their reputation.

My wife bought my hybrid Aliens there (no dimples ;-)) and they've always been straightforward and honest in person. Never mail ordered from them since I'm up on the east side often enough to just go in person. The staff is hardcore skiers and climbers; you'll be supporting a local shop that helps keep the Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center and other local resources going; and they often can get items that no one else can.

Sometimes it's worth paying a few bucks more to support them. If they've got the item you need at a competitive price, it's a no-brainer, buy it there.

I've been there, and they are really cool and have alot of good stuff, so I'd think that they would do good on the internet, but I haven't ordered from them, so couldn't say for sure.

Mammoth Mountaineering is a true climbers/skiers/backcountry users shop. of the vain that, unfortunately, are disappearing.

If you don't have a local shop to support, and are going to buy on line. They are the type of shop you should use.

Right on.

They stand behind everything they sell. They're a great mom and pop shop. Old school. Personalized service. Great values. They may make mistakes but you'll get a first person human that addresses your issue. Not a spec of the corporate horseshit that's usurping American business.

I visited the shop a few times and bought a few things when I was there. They were helpful, friendly, and didn't mind if I examined the new climbing gear they had in at the time. I never looked at their website or ordered from them remotely.

I like to support local shops that give me good service.
