Those of you who know me already knew this, but to the uninnitiated, I am a dork. My crappy futon was falling appart at one particular glued dowel joint. I already glued it once and it had recently come appart again. The first time I didn't clamp it. I just glued it and squeezed it and hoped it held. The reason I didn't clamp it was because I didn't have a clamp that big...and I still don't. This time, I decided to rig a tiny slackline using a couple of old spectra slings and some biners. Basically I set up a 3:1 pully that is clamping the freshly glued arm/leg of my futon. I was able to get it faily tight...say Low B on a 5 string bass when plucked. I'm confindent that my futon will now stay glued. I suppose this could be added to that old 101 uses for old climbing gear thread...hmmm. Ok, back to the Denver game. Jason
