I'm looking for some good climbing reading material. Such as biographies and short stories. I am really only interest on books about rockclimbing, I'm not into mountaineering or alpinism. I have read and greatly enjoyed the following: Exposed, by John Sherman (best book on climbing I have read) Climbing Free, by Lynn Hill Close Calls, John Long there are a few others but I cants remeber them. Any suggestions??? Thanks

This one's a novel about both climbing and mountaineering (but mostly rock climbing) in 1950s Europe. It's called "The Fall" by a guy named Simon Mawer. It's basically about a love triangle on the rocks. It's got climbing and sex. So it's good.

I enjoy anything by Clinton McKenzie. Edge of Justice, Point of Law, Crossing the Line and Trial by Fire Ice. It is kind fo detective on the rocks. I also liked Totem Pole by Paul Pritchard and Into the Void.

The Last Step by Rick Ridgeway is a good book, it's about the '75 expedition to K2 so you may not like it. Another book that does not have anything to do with climbing but it still has the adrenal and and suspense is Shadow Divers. You may think that what we do is crazy, but after you read Shadow Divers you'll realize all we do is child's play. -Bobby

Sherman Exposed was really great. I would reccomend "High Lonesome" from John Sherman. It is rock climbing but also about soloing.

I enjoyed lynn Hills Climbing Free also, it contained lots of great stories about the golden age of rock climbing and her personal struggles in life and climbing. Another great book with a ton of different stories from different authors is Climbing magazine's best stories, this isnt the name but if googled im sure you would find it. Great book though with lots of different aspects of climbing involved.
