Im pretty new to climbing myself, but live in the phoenix area, so maybe I can help a little. The closest indoor gym to you is going to be in Tempe, (www.phoenixrockgym.com), there is also one out in scottsdale (http://www.azontherocks.com/). As for outdoor stuff, or clubs im not very knowledgeable about. I know there are several places to climb in the area, but ive only been once as I havent had much opportunity. Hopefully this hels you out at least a little bit

You have the supes, camelback, beardsly, so mtn (not sure on Mcdowells, p-peak) and too many gyms within an hour from you. Tucson, flag, Josh, redrocks for a change of scenary. Hook up in a gym or area. It's a pain getting going, but more opportunities than you can use, right there.

there's a ridiculous amount of climbing out here. From Gilbert, you've got queen creek canyon about an hour away with good bouldering and sport. check out www.drtopo.com for some basic guides in AZ, plus the local shops like Rei have cheap paper guides or phoenix area guide books. There is a group going bouldering this saturday in queen creek canyon with a friend and our wives and maybe some others. You're welcome to tag along. There's almost always people climbing in any of those areas mentioned too, I'm sure you'll find people to climb with.
