Buy tnuts on the internet from a place that makes them not a climbing place. Though now on ebay you can get 200 for 16 bucks. I got 1000 for 57 including shipping from some place. For holds call nicros and ask if they have any deals going on. Like second deals or discontinued deals. (added) For a crash pad look in your newspaper and buy mattreses, just put a sheet on them. I got a never used king for $8. You can also go to a damaged freight or some thing and buy a futon mattress for like 50-80 and they work really well. Contact climbing hold manufacturers, and ask if they are selling seconds. They usually have tons of second hand holds that they can not sell as new simply for cosmetic reasons. I have gotten good deals this way.

Mountain Equipment Coop usually has pretty cheap TNuts that you can order on-line. As for holds maybe check out your local gym. The one I go to sells them really cheap, mind you the are old and possibly broken in spots. I find there better worn in anyway! And finally I would have to agree with the futon mattress, they work really well. Or even a big peice of foam covered with a sheet, some places give the stuff away.
