Can anyone recommend a climbing instructor in the SF Bay Area? Looking to do outdoor multipitch trad leading. The local gyms have lots of flyers for various places, but the ones I've contacted have been pretty unorganized and slow to respond. I know about the Yosemite school but am looking to start earlier than their season opens. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Mountain Adventure Seminars is a great guiding outfit, with competetive prices and a great staff. I would contact these folks and let them know what you're interested in... As for the "unorganized" factor, this is certainly due to the fact that we are fimrly stuck in winter, and anyplace worth climbing (up here, at least) is covered with snow. If you're looking at getting a head start on your season, i would suggest travelling to either Joshua Tree or Red Rocks, and availing yourself with one of the excellent local guides there.
