Hi, recently i was reading about the 1977 plane crash and i have two doubts about it... 1. Some people refered to Jeff Long book "Angels of Light" but i was reading that some guy wrote the same book title with the author John Long....is the same guy John and Jeff Long? 2.My second doubt is about the cliffhanger movie... was that plane crash in 1977 the same that the movie refers?

According to this biography, it doesn't sound like it is the same person, or even related individuals.....

Jeff and John are unrelated. Jeff lives in Boulder and is a writer and climber. He's written Angels of Light, The Descent, The Ascent and, most recently, The Wall. There are others, too, but I can't remember the titles. Angels of Light is a climbing novel loosely based to the the airplane crash. The Wall is a full-0n psycho fictional account of an ascent of El Cap with lots of mind-fuck twisted plot lines. It's great. John Long is the badass climber dude of Yosemite fame. First NIAD, etc. He occasionally posts to this forum as well as supertopo under the username vivalargo. He lives in SoCal and does some movie stuff including proposing the script for Cliffhinger. Mal
