Check out www.rockcomps.com for information on ABS (American Bouldering Series) events in your area.

comps are tons of fun. its like no other competitive event youve ever been to. completely laid back and not nerve racking at all. it honestly feels like just another day at the rock or gym, just more people. you should definitely check it out even if you dont climb in it

Try http://www.indoorclimbing.com/comp_listings.html
I'm a beginner too ;) I've only looked at what's in the eastern states of the U.S. on this site but give it a try as I know Canada is listed there. Going to competitions is definately worth it - they ARE so laid back and you can learn so much just by talking to the competitors. And watching...OH SO MOTIVATING!!! Driving home I'm scanning everything around me looking for something....aNyThInG to jump out of the car and chalk up for lol Great for us beginners out there -
good luck

Ottawa - I don't think there are any more comps planned until the fall.

You just missed a whole bunch of bi-weekly "friendly" comps held at both Coyote and VR that've been going on since last fall (finals were last weekend) and the big Tour de Bloc comp was back in early March. I think the next Tour de Bloc is in either Sept or Oct.

No idea about Peterborough.
