Hey Ben - I was thinking of you and Kate recently. Too bad you're on the opposite coast again. Hey do I remember you saying you'd lead that roof at Coopers? Here's the summary of life in the west Social life - doesn't exist :? Work life - Mon/Fri well paid lack of climbing :tinfoilhat: Ice life - 39 days and counting. There's still ice :D Rock life - Two weekends so far including 5.9 offwidth and 5.10b sport leads  Car life - :deadhorse: Well not yet but it's rattling and squeaking more. General outlook - :righton: So who's for some bacon sarnies?..... with HP sauce of course.

Morning Grant. Shop's been pretty hit or miss lately. There's a rumor we're gonna be bought out by Starshmucks, free WiFi for everyone!! 8^) My life is slightly less exciting than yours, although I did manage my second day of multi pitch trad last week, 8 pitches on Whitehorse Slab. That was fun. :D I'll take my usual.

In reply to: I prefer someone more wholesome. >snip< I'm not Catholic mind you, but they must be wholesome, right? 8^) My bad. I read it as "whoresome"
In reply to: hey, it's a sausage party in the shop today!!!!!! morning all hey grant you still heading to skaha on the may long weekend???? Nah, more of a bacon fired party of male pigs  I was thinking of Skaha for Easter until the weather crapped out. Is that what you meant? I hadn't really given much thought to the May two-four yet.

My mistake, get er done son. The ice is getting questionable now but it's definitely still there to seek out, find, and climb. Meanwhile exploration of the rock continues.

Hey Grant, Nathan and I are talking more and more seriously about heading out west to Calgary. You know anything about the housing market out there? We're pretty sick and tired of renting, and if we're going to be out there for a while thought it might be worth while to get a house.

I already went for a bike ride and had my free Rockrammer-- doubleshot cubano with a little cream-- and chilled out downtown. Got a couple hours before I go sling coffee and make sammiches for the afternoon. Girl made a kitty face in my drink with steamed milk. I have a cell phone picture, but alas, no way to upload it. It was pretty sweet.

We're pretty sick and tired of renting, and if we're going to be out there for a while thought it might be worth while to get a house. I can answer that one. It's hot, real hot. For most houses there is a bidding war, a lot go for more than they were listed. That being said, it shows no signs of slowing down and with the increase of over 25% last year, it's still very much worth the investment. My house has near tripled in value since I bought it. You can still get a good deal, meaning close to downtown for less than Vancouver or Toronto. In other news, if I weren't in Ireland I would so be there in Skaha for May long. Guess it will have to wait until another weekend. I was thinking the Canada day one. Both my horses left this weekend, but one will come back pregnant and one trained, so that's ok. Grant, let's hang out this week, I'll call you. Now that the horses are gone I have more time.

That's pretty much the housing market in North America it seems. I'm thinking South America... Ihear you can still get large lots of land down there pretty cheap

Morning all!! Emilie and I are finally sorta settled in Calgary. Everything went relitively smoothly over the weekend. Emilie and I were so tuckered out we passed out shortly after checking into a hotel. Last night was very well deserved rest :-) Didn't have to do anything for 6 hours for the first time in over two weeks. Of course, I contributed to Grant's lack of a social life by not calling him yesterday. :-( But I promise I'll make up for it this week! We'll go for beers or something this week. And definitely hit the rock next weekend. Thinking about heading to Banff/Lake Louise if the weather is up to par for the show you guys are holding up there. Also will try to head up to Wasooch or Barrier on thursday if the weather holds.
In reply to: Grant, let's hang out this week, I'll call you. Now that the horses are gone I have more time. Can Emilie and I join ya guys? Been waiting to meet the infamous winter for many years. ;-)

We're pretty sick and tired of renting, and if we're going to be out there for a while thought it might be worth while to get a house. Sweet! You know what will happen though? You will end up here just as I head back East and then we won't get to climb together. :-( If you do get here in time we can go climb another moderate choss pile that you can get us lost on. ;-) With regards to the housing market, I highly recomend buying a place. Emilie and I would if we had some money:?. They are REALLY expensive though. ($300,000-$500,000) for smallish bungalows.
In reply to: meant may 2-4..........easter is past and gone!!!!!!!! To clear up some of the confusion here, I mentioned that Emilie and I would be going and Grant would come along IF we could convince him. This of course would require me to bring it up with him... which I haven't yet. So Grant... May 2-4, Skaha? :-D

JR, yes, let's dial it up. The 4 of us should head out to the pub, maybe wed night? Depends on when I go see my horse at the trainer, I will keep you posted. Thanks Marge  I used to be fun to climb with, back when I could climb. Since I've climbed a total of 4 times in the last six months, I'm sucking bad. If someone's ropegunning though I'm in. JR< my favorite after work spot is Prairie. Stiff though, maybe I'm not up for it yet this year.... Marge, def lets climb this summer. We should meet one weekend in Stone hill Montana, 'close' for both of us.

:wtf: What's with planning my social calendar without telling me.... :drama: I am so out of the loop, even the loop lied to me about having a social life. :robert: Apparently I'm having more fun than I know and even have social engagements to fulfill in BC     Soooooooo...... I don't know what the fux-happnin; but if it doesn't interfere with my ice climbing and I'm not expected at that M-F thing that steals the occasional Saturday, then I guess I could do .....something. 8^) futures so bright, I gotta wear shades. Oh and erm, that M-F thing has me busy for the afternoon shift this week at least. Mornings until 3pm-ish are open though. Various forms of hanging are possible but if any involve nooses, then I get to tie the knot. Oh and talking of tying the knot, JR asked me to marry him last time we met...... I agreed.

Well Marge if you came a couple days early you could tie one on Calgary style for stampede. Otherwise, visit anytime! I hate that I used all my weekends this winter with the crush instead of coming to see you and ski  boys suck. I am in Hawaii July 29th-aug7th but other than that summer is wide open. Yay.
