I am spending my summer working in Big Bear. I know little about the climbing in the area and have no climbing friends there. Is there anyone in that area interested in a new climbing partner for the glorious summer months?

Maggie, you shouldn't have any problems finding partners this summer. The Williamson area above Los Angeles is closed to climbing now so hordes of prana clad LA climbers will soon be invading your local crags. There are many small areas dotted about the Big Bear area I suggest looking for a copy of Brad Singers "Hidden Treasures" guide book. I believe they keep a copy of it at the ranger station on the backside of Big Bear lake.

I'll be making the trip up to Coyote Crags a few times this summer. PM me if you're interested. I have the guidebook(s), etc.
