I may sound like a sissy, but there is a reason for that.
When i go climbing, often my fingertips get pretty painful pretty fast, as my first layers of skin come off. i seem to wet through my chalk faster when this happens, and it's pretty annoying, this did not used to happen. I used to climb on some pretty course sandstone, but now even at the gym my fingertips will start shedding skin in under two hours.
Does anyone know the cause/cure for this?

After my fingers get shredded, I like to wash up then throw on some Burt's Bees Wax Hand Salve. It is basically the same stuff as Climb On! but cheaper and better in my opinion. Just work the salve in real well into your hands and finger tips and they will heal much faster allowing you more time to climb before you start to lose your tips at your next session.

i just put up a post about this. use hoof maker. the stuff rocks. it's made for strengthening horse's hooves, but also works well on your skin. it's made by "mane n' tail" just google it and you will find out everything you need to know. there's a similar product called "iron hands" that is even stronger; friends have told me that "iron hands" actually makes one's skin too tough.
