I am traveling in Rio for the month of July. I will be studying Jiu-Jitsu all day Monday through Friday but I want to climb on the weekends. I will only have 8 days to climb so unfortunately will not have time to find partners. Can anybody please recommend a good guide? Thank you

Alex

Any guide in Rio that is certified by the local association http://www.aguiperj.org.br/aguiperj/ is good.

I´ve climbed with Kika Bradford http://www.aribira.com.br/ and Flávio Daflon http://www.guiadaurca.com/...ia/climbinginrio.htm, both very professional and knowledgeable guides.

Have fun!

Hey

do you definitely want to go with a guide? I arrived in Rio yesterday and will be here till the end of august. I got a rope and all the equipment as well and I can lead up to 6c ( french...must be something around 5.10..)
so if you want, just tell me who I can reach you and when you will be here.
cu Tine

Hi all,

I will be visiting Rio next week and would love to go climbing either Saturday 24th or Sunday 25th. On sport I lead about 5.10.a (5c/6a) on trad I prefer to go second:-)

Does anyone want to go or could anyone recommend a guide to take me?

sorry it took two weeks to write back.

Tine and Chan: hope to climb with you guys in Rio
Chan I sent you an email and tine I shot you a PM
Christine I am sorry I will not be there when you want to climb
Bagre_rei : thanks for the beta. If I can not find a partner I will call those two guides.
