duskerhu has brought it to my attention that the Access fund's Adopt a grag will be going on at Barn Bluff sept 7th and Shovel point Sept 8. For more information or to sign up goto the MCA web page: http://www.mnclimbing.org/events.html

Here is some info from that site:

Adopt a Crag day
On September 7 & 8, 2002, we will be participating in the annual Access Fund's Adopt a Crag day. The MCA will be cooperating with REI and the Access fund to concentrate on Barn Bluff in Red Wing and Shovel Point in Tettegouche State Park, just north of Duluth. There will be many projects as well as T-shirts and lunch provided by REI.

Barn Bluff- September 7, 2002
9:00 am Meet at the Parking lot at the bottom of the bluff

9:00 - 1 pm Clean up, trail maintenance, and other volunteer work

1 - ??? pm Climbing and Lunch from REI

7:00 pm Midwest Mountaineering - Slide show and BEER!

Shovel Point- September 8, 2002
11 am Anyone who wants to car pool meet at UMD's Ordean Court

12:30 pm Meet at the Tettegouche State Park visitor center

12:30 - 4 pm Volunteer work at Tettegouch & Temperance River state parks

4 - 7 pm Fun climbing at Shovel Point, Barbecue in the picnic area

8 pm Beverages and slides at Kaija and Dean's. Anyone can
bring 5 - 10 slides of 'how I spent my last climbing trip' type of stuff.

We are hoping to get 2 small crews to work on Shovel Point and on the
trail up to Carlton Peak from the parking area. Both parks are happy to
have climbers willing to volunteer to help the cause.

Thanks Dann for tracking down all the information.

Les
