Since the other thread is getting really large and people are starting to get tickets I thought we should get a new one going to coordinate arrivals and some carpooling. I'm sure a lot of this won't be firmed up till closer to the date, but it's never too early to start planning. I will be driving up from Boston Friday night the 11th after work. Unfortunately I have to work on Monday so I will be heading home sometime late afternoon on Sunday the 13th. Most likely I will have room for at least 2, maybe 3 people.

We are leaving NC on Thursday night after we get off work. Probably swinging through PA to give Mitch a ride and then heading to NH. WE could fit two more in the jeep. We leave NH on Mon to come back. -Don Diego-

tcollins: If Amber flies into Boston and doesn't have a ride, I could divert from Nova Scotia to return her if you collected her for Rumney. Maybe someone else can do both ways though.

We will be going through Boston on the way there and back. Mrs. De la Vega is from Beantown so she knows the deal. WE could do it, the only thing is that our drive is pretty long so there is no guarantees at what time we'll get to Beanton. If she doesn't mind waiting for us, we'll be more than happy to get her or at least, get her back to Boston from Rumney. -Don Diego-

Once she has her tix we can plan it easier. I have no issues with picking her up. No need for you to add that much more to your trip up Don. The ride back might be of some help though. We'll just have to wait and see.

So far, it might look like we'll come in to Manchester - I'm not a big fan of dealing with as much traffic as possible - but if I can get her to fly out on thursday, we might hitch a ride with Lew (clymber) from Newark.. I'm waiting for word from the lady herself about when she can leave... - d.

I'm beside myself with this .. I really, really cant believe that you guys are going to this much trouble for me. I need to discuss the time off situation with my boss, and need to see if I can arrange childcare for my son. I should know more on Tuesday evening or Wednesday .. *sniff sniff* .. you all are entirely too kind .. I deeply touched and flattered by the effort being put forth to get me out there .. Ya'll move fast! I can do rides out of Boston Thursday evening, and pick up stragglers at Manchester thursday night and friday morning. I plan to head up early Friday morning, and come back down monday evening (likely camping up there - yet to decide). I can do a run to the airport(s) (Boston/Manchester) Monday evening, and Boston Tuesday morning on the way in to work. Both airports are about 45 minutes/1 hr from home in Durham NH - we can fit a couple on the sofa-couch thursday night/monday night if need be - and the floor is hard but available. If anyone is stuck and *really* needs to get to/from Manchester, it's not too far from Rumney and I'll drive a shuttle if you're in a pinch... but you buy the coffee if it's really early. We (Dawn and I) look forward to meeting everyone. What an unexpected surprise a little search on "Rock Climbing New Hampshire" yielded.

Directions to my place in Campton, NH: Take I-93 to exit 28, Waterville Valley / Campton. Head off the exit onto Rt. 49 towards Campton and Waterville Valley (right from the south, left from the north). Follow 49 about 1 mile to a set of lights at Campton Village. Go straight through the lights, heading towards Waterville Valley for about another mile. You will pass William Tell restaurant on your left. Shortly after, you will come to a bridge. Take a left at the bridge. Go up a steep hill, and bear left at the top onto upper Mad River Rd. The house is the first house on the left, and I'll put up some balloons or something to make it easier. The phone number, should you get lost (you idiot), is 603-726-4498. It is the Steele's house. See you all soon! Jan

Sauron- If you need a lift from MHT on Thursday, lemme know. 3:09 should not be a problem. I'm trying to keep up with the main thread--not easy--but it sounds like most people won't be getting together until Friday afternoon... is there a "plan" for those who are ready to go Thursday afternoon?

CLF: I looked at a map. I think the quickest way to get to Rumney is via Buffalo. Rather than drive into T.O. then turn around and drive to Buffalo how would you feel about meeting me some where along the 401? or you could also park your car at my office; there are lots of people who I work with that travel and leave their cars here for weeks at a time without incident. Our office is along the 407 is the boonies of Oakville, so it's not a highly trafficed area... Let me know what you think, Ken. [ This Message was edited by: kwmoore on 2002-09-17 11:11 ]

Carpooling from St. Kitts works for me. My only concern is that I'll have to find my way to your place then find my way to Rumney. My navigational skills may not be up to the task...

CFL: I sent you an email. I'm staying at Jan's place. (Well really I'm camping out in his driveway ) Where are you staying? I think I remember seeing your name on the Jansgroup list. If so, that would work out perfectly!

Posted in the Rumney book I think we should see Karen there if not Adam. Karen was looking to share a ride though and although I can drive her down, I am continuing on to Nova Scotia after. Is anyone coming back through New York towards Buffalo and able to provide a ride home? I will post this in the carpool topic too. So is anyone coming from Buffalo/Niagara/Ontario and able to give i-karen a ride back to Syracuse/Oswego? PART TWO I have an empty car and would like someone to share the driving. Going from Niagara Friday afternoon to Rumney. Then from Rumney to Nova Scotia after the gathering is done around midweek. A little NS bouldering/routes and visiting friends and then returning to Ontario by Sunday night 22nd October. If you are interested and can share driving, I will pay the gas, especially if you want to take your vehicle
