DJ, theres an REI on Woodman/ Academy but the climbing selection is weak. Not to mention you might not get good information there. Better choice is Mountain Chalet on Tejon, Downtown. good selection and pretty good staff.

Oh, CO has plenty of climbers, we're just hiding =). If your looking for easy 5.6 - 5.8 climbing, Garden of the Gods (some Sport, some Trad) and Red Rocks Canyon (all Sport) both have good routes in that range. I know of a few good climbs at Garden of the Gods and wouldn't mind a dedicated partner, my current one is moving away. Shoot me an email: blitz933@gmail.com, I'm busy Fri and Sat but have Sun and Monday off. I'd love to meet some more experienced climbers, I've only been doing this a few months. While I'm good at it, I'd like to progress from 5.6-5.8 and the occasional 5.9 to 5.10 and up routes, and start doing some of the bigger walls here in CO. Anyone up for the challenge?

Oh, I KNOW CO has plenty of climber. CO Springs on the other hand?? Thanks for the beta Blitz, but know the area pretty well already, just wondering what happened the folks that were on here. We'll have to meet up sometime for a climb.

Well, I met DJ at Mtn. Chalet yesterday and helped him pick out a few pieces of gear, and today we went out to Garden of the Gods and setup on the practice slab on toprope (potholes was busy). Only got a couple of climbs in before the drizzle chased us into packing up, then quit, so we walked down to the snake pit for a little bouldering before heading home. Anything else going on? Still waiting on ur email anykineclimb, looking forward to climbing with you . . .

Hmmm... "good"? "sport"??? Theres plenty of routes in Garden Of The Gods that you can climb without trad gear. It'll be, um, an interesting experience if its your 1st time on soft sandstone but if you're in the area, go ahead and check it out. theres some good bouldering too. Blowouts and Snakepit will keep you occupied for a while.
