I think I don't even have to ask, but what are your opinions??? To tell you the truth, every trad climber I've met has been very humble. I even tend to spray about my sport climbs(UGHHHH!), but not trad for some reason. rrrADAM [ This Message was edited by: rrradam on 2001-09-24 20:53 ]

I think the ones out climbing don't have a chance to post very often. I will admit I don't know everything so I post alot to have my questions answers, and to talk to other people with the same interests. Keep on climbing!

Interesting topic. Of course this is not true about all climbers on either side. But sport climbers tend to spray about how hard they climb and trad climbers tend to spray about how bold they were. Basically what I did versus what I got away with.

I think sport climbers are generally more achievement oriented in their climbing, while Trad climbers tend to be more experience motivated. That is, Sporters enjoy the end result: being able to say that you can climb that 5.13, while trad dads prefer to savor the overall experience on the rock... AW

I've got the most hilarious story about a girl who sprayed! I was with my friends at the Red and this girl was at every climb we went to. She kept saying, "Yeah, I flashed that climb all the way up to the first bolt, then I just biffed it." Needless to say, she was a sport climber (and we still rip on her). But I've also heard traddies spraying about how good they were. Then I saw them climb. I think everyone does it at some point in time.

spraying - (verb) 1. bragging about how good you climb. 2. bragging about the level at which you climb. 3. talking down to people who don't climb at your level 4. having excuses for why you didn't send. In other words, not being humble. Just ask yourself, are you concerned with sending high # ??? rrrADAM
