Seemed like a lot of the Frontrange crew all have the same pass, so Here's a place to coordinate rides, lodging, etc. The resorts included are: Keystone A-Basin Breckinridge Vail Beaver Creek You can certainly post for any resort, but I'm guessing that these will be the main ones people on this site are going to. Have fun and be safe!

As usual, quite a few days will be dedicated to their Masters training program -- this year I'm hoping to get those wedge turns down pat. Holler next time you're heading out to Copper, especially a weekend. I tend to run gates on upper Bittersweet with Masters in the morning, then go play in the afternoon. IMO the weather to too nice to ski this weekend, but I heard Copper was open from top to bottom.

Great thread idea, Micah. I just need to get those pesky lessons out of the way so I can have my pass. Gawd, I hope I like skiing.

By the way, I'm uncertain if I'll be able to visit your neck of the woods this year. CMH Galena is pretty much booked up for the season. I'm on the waiting list for the Bugaboos, hoping that a few people will drop out before February.

Not a 5-mountain thing, but Loveland is holding equipment demo days this weekend (Nov. 18 & 19). Sign up at Colorado Ski & Golf or Boulder Ski Deals by Tuesday (11/14) for $40 per day, or $45 at Loveland on the day(s) of the event. If you're signing up in town, bring one of your ski boots. For anyone who's looking to buy new equipment or just likes to try out new toys, this is one of the best deals out there. The $40 includes a lift ticket, a lunch voucher for $8 or so (which WILL get you a lunch at Loveland), and all the demos you can squeeze in during the day. I've been doing this demo for so long that it's become my real start of the ski season. It's a blast, but be prepared for a tiring day if you truly want to play with a lot of new toys.

sounds like lots of peeps are headin up the mountain this weekend. I'll be there on saturday for sure. Although I'm not sure as of this point if im leaving fri or sat, and when i'm coming back. We'll be going where the snow is. Prolly Breck it sounds like, but if keystone gets more snow we'll go there.

Good conditions at the Loveland demo -- sunshine, decent snow, no chance of frostbite. The classic line of the weekend ocurred when a dude returned a pair of AC4s to the Volkl rep. Mr. It-Can't-Be-Me stated, "I'm an ex-racer and these skis don't turn on the steeps (aka Richards, a blue run). They went straight down the hill so fast I almost pee'd my pants." He griped to the rep that the tune on the tips must be off. I did a quick inspection and thought the tune was little short of world-class perfect. I jumped on the skis next. They ripped at speed, turned on a dime, and pounded the bumps. They even skied well on those God-forsaken, edge-of-the-known-world, I'm-gonna-die, bullet-proof-ice, man-wasn't-meant-to-be-here, I-want-my-mommy, blue-square steeps. When I handed them back to the rep I said, "I'm an active racer. These skis turned so quickly, and were so much fun that I think I just pee'd my pants. Good thing I'm wearing Depends." The Volkl guys were grinning at me all weekend. As my coach states all too often, "Don't blame the tool."

MICAH! So I got my very first day of snowboarding in yesterday. We got Winter Park passes, so I'm not sure if we will be crossing paths. But I am always up for heading up with some other beginners sometime. Did you get the pm I sent you in response to yours? I REALLY hate this site, so I won't be here much. I just don't have the time, energy, or patience to figure it out. It should just be easier. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to you and the rest of the Front Range Freaks! Cindy, how goes it? Are you skiing yet??? I hear you are on the house-hunting job for us :-D

Dina, yeah, I actually skied last weekend. Very fun stuff right up until the time when Cass sprained her wrist. I can tell you with certainty that you are not allowed inside the Breck Medical Center until you remove your ski boots. Even if you are the mom of one of the injured. She'll be fine, just a sprain. I hear you were ripping up the slopes this past weekend too! I don't know how you can board though. That shit looks hard. Yep, I'll be on the house prowl for you guys. This will be fun!

cindylou wrote: Very fun stuff right up until the time when Cass sprained her wrist. Best of luck with her healing. Sprains pretty much suck.
cindylou wrote: I don't know how you can board though. That shit looks hard. You mean the constant kneeling on slopes (facing uphill) and sitting on catwalks (facing downhill)? Nope, that's easy. I see boarder-dudes doing it all the time. Want to see boarders have fun? Put them on ice, moguls, tight trees, flats, gates, and traverses. Now that shit will look hard.
