where to get resole rubber?

I have a number of shoes in need of resoles. I have resoled most of my shoes in the past, but I am out of resole rubber. The new kits have only little pieces of rubber good for one pair (I used to get 3 pairs out of the old kits). Does anyone have beta on how/where I can buy a sheet of rubber for resoling? I am in the Boston area now, and will be in Cleveland before the end of December as far as getting them locally. Internet/mail order would probably be best though.

They don't have the info on their resole kits up online yet, but I am sure they will be able to help you out if you email them.

Good luck... I tried to buy a sheet of rubber, like the old resole kits, had to resole some tennis shoes and could not find it anywhere. I contacted Five-ten and they were no help. I ended up buying a Five-ten resole kit, for approach shoes, from Summit Hut in Tucson, AZ, but it had 2 soles pre-cut to fit climbing shoes. I called to see if they sent me the wrong kit and both them and Five-ten said that I had received the correct kit. I don't know how they expect you to resole approach shoes with a piece of rubber pre-cut for a climbing shoe sole. I guess Five-ten is trying to force people to send their shoes to a resole shop, or fork out a bunch of cash for several resole kits.

It's just a lost art anymore.

I used to resole my shoes, I was pretty good at it and I really enjoyed it too. Resoling is fun!!! But YosemiteBum does such a better job that I just don't do my own anymore.

What I know can be done is to get the rubber from MadRock. I hear they are a lot more friendly about who they'll sell big sheets of rubber to. Try that.

Try a phone call. A lot of companies just don't keep up on their email correspondence and by phone is usually the only way to get answers from them.

To put an end to this tale, I finally called and Madrock was quite helpful (thanks guys), and mailed me a sheet that was about 2 feet by 2 feet 55X56 cm? . It cost 40$ with shipping, but should do a lot of shoes.

you might try "yosemite bum"

they are evolv and they do TONS of resoling, including super toe-rand, extra sensitive, extra stiff, etc.
