Greetings,
Looking to buy a 24v or 36v rotary hammer to rebolt some older sport routes that need new hardware. Got one that's just collecting dust in your closet? Well, make some money off of it!

I don't have one for sale but I did pick up a Bosch Annhilator for only 297 bucks. Went to the tool outlet and asked if they had demos, the kind the tool reps use when they come by the store, etc. Barely used, about half price. Maybe you could try that? I am rebolting a sport area that got chopped. Nothing like a Bosch, can do a 5" hole in about 20 seconds or less.

I use one of my freinds cordless drills, for the first inch then a hand drill.

You can find cheap power tools at a tool store called Harbor Freight. My experience has been that all power tools are a gamble in quality, no matter how reputable the name, so you are just as weel off going cheap. I have had DeWalt tools break after minimal use and chineese junk last forever.
If you buy new, you get SOME kind of waranty, but used you are really gamling.
Harbor Feight sells Chicagao power tools which tend to cost less than half of what name brands do. The name brands at Harbor Freight are sometimes cheaper, but ususally not much.
Quality bits (and hand tools), though, become an issue of safety. DO use name brand bits.

Sometimes your Big Lots, Mc Frugals or Pic 'n Save (all the same company) will have some cheap power tools, but you odd of finding what you are looking for are slim.
If I were drilling many holes, I would DEFINETLY get a power hammer drill. A hand drill, though, would make one stronger.

Russ Walling, who has done LOTS of walling, has a tip at his Fish Products website about upgrading the cordless drill to take a bigger battery.

I've done my share of rotahammering in concrete, and can say that Bosch or Makita drills are about the best. The Harbor Freight and other Chinese cheapies work great as long as you aren't going to drill day after day after day. The wear out quicker.
Also, if you aren't going to do the Fish rewiring, try to get one that has NiMH (nickel metal hydride) batteries, and not Ni-Cad (nickel cadmium). The NiMH batteries are WAY better.
I would spend 99 cents on some foam earplugs, if I were you.
