I'll be in Madrid (working) from March 1 till March 7. I'd love to get some climbing in and meet some local climbers. I hear that the climbing in the Madrid area is amazing. I'll be working while I'm there so I won't be able to go very far from Madrid. Any reccomendations? Does any one know of climbing gyms in the city that I could drop by?

Hi Theresa:
If weather is fine, unfortunately last weeks it has not been, there are several places to climb near Madrid. Less than one hour driving you have several places to climb, both sport and trad. If you are looking for some place to train you can go to Boulder King http://www.bulderking.com. It is probably one of the best indoor gyms in Madrid. There it is very easy to find anybody to climb with.

Hi Cesar,
Thank you very much for the information. I will hopefully get to the gym on my first or second day in Madrid. If the weather is nice, hopefully I can meet a few people to climb with. It's exciting to hear that there is climbing so close to Madrid.
