Im moving, get me the F out of Ohio, I can't take coming back to this sh** everytime I leave. It was 103 degrees Friday! And now Im back to 30ish with instant depression. I mean really, I thought I was revived by being out of state. I logged onto my computer at work today and literally started tearing up. I really don't think I can go through this anymore. I had such a fantastic week, I climbed in 4 spots, hiked, camped, saw my friends and smiled for 9 days. I really need to get the sh** outta here. Advice?

I can't do this anymore. I was here at work for 10 minutes. I was filled in on the gossip, complained to, psudo-reprimanded. On top of that, it's blizzarding outside and everything is grey. Finish the semester and transfer out. I can't take this anymore.

You are absolutely right, and I do or I wouldn't have posted such profound (to me) words. Once I gauge this setback, the Jeep thing, I will have a better perspective as to where I stand. I believe I should make a move out of here.

Sounds like you're on the right path. The only thing that I would add to your idiom is that once you open your eyes, you need to act on the insight you've gained. It's a place I think a lot of people get hung up. They know what they want to do, but for some reason won't take that final step and instead are worse off than before because now in addition to the problems they have they see a place they want to be, but aren't. "place" being figurative, even though in your situation it happens to be literal.

If we could sit down and have coffee for a few hours you would see how much I have learned about myself, others, what I have missed and how resilient the human being is. I have been through a lot of sh** starting April 5 2006 until now. I am surprised that I continuously pick myself up and dust myself off. You are right, the part after "opening your eyes" is very important, I can do that time and time again. Thanks for your kind words.

Sounds like your in the hot seat for problems right now . When I find it happening to me - I just keep trying to make it better/make it through it and then it's gone and life is great again. If you are REALLY thinking about coming to Cali - PM me and I'll try and help get you information or whatever you need. It is actually great here with excellent weather and plenty of climbing to choose from...it's just not a secret, so expect traffic and long lines at the store and local crag. POSITIVE VIBRATION Good luck with whichever way you decide to go...

Arizona not Cali, too expensive. I have a job I can transfer with, place to live and a school I have already applied to out there, now I just need to settle the Jeep situation, get some bank, finish my current class, finish up lease and then Im off.

I agree Ohio can be a real drag in the winter months with crappy weather and a very short ice season, I find myself contemplating the same move WEST!!!! I plan a trip out west every year for the middle to end of April and this helps take the sting out of the seemingly never ending gray of Ohio winters. Sorry to hear you have been under such stress for a year and hope the sun shines soon. Seneca has some very nice easy routes that can be done when its cold and sh!TT# for those times when you have got to get outside and climb. Have a better day.
