I there a way to delete climbs from your climbing log? I think I accidentally posted a couple of the same climbs twice.

Thanks.

i dont know if you can actually record more than one ascent of a route. if you can, i dont think someone can help you because i believe that the RDB in its current state does not allow the deletion of ascents.

but if you added a route to the RDB twice, just ask the aread manager to delete the duplicate.

Might be easier to climb the route again

Sent a PM to Area manager, he can delete them if no ascents are attached to them.

If they have ascents attached to them then he can PM DDT and he will move them and delete duplicate route.

Jonathan, if this is regarding the 'Dacks, I am still waiting for DDT to shift the ascents to the original route descriptions.
I was hoping that would be the quickest an easiest solution, but it isn't turning out that way.
If you want, you can re-post the same ascents, but linked to the original routes, and then I will just delete the duplicate route descriptions (everything named "..... - Combine").

Thanks. The ones that I am referring to are not from the Adirondacks, though. Actually, the only one that I need to change is the double of "Beginner's Delight" at the Gunks. on 5-6-06.

Ah! I see know what you mean. Tradrenn is right, only DDT can edit Ascents.
You might want to try asking him if he could just delete the Ascent with ID=136435.

While you're at it, could you delete ascent # 115458 please?

It appears that if you've recorded more than one ascent on the same climb, only the first one goes into your chart. Since I have to choose, I'd rather have the redpoint ascent notated than the first (hangdog) ascent.

Thanks,

GO

Done. Yeah, we should really fix that issue.

Actually, that didn't fix it. I don't know what the log is attached to, but it now includes ascents that you deleted, as well as not including ascents that I have put in.

Hey guys,

I just added some functionality that makes it possible for you to delete your own ascent notes. See the announcement here. Smile

Cool, thanks! Can you make the chart more accurate? It's a very cool (and potentially useful) graphic, it's really a shame it's not accurate.

One other thing - it'd be nice to be able to sort my ascents by, say, difficulty, or region, or any number of useful things. But I'd say fix the broken stuff (dysfunctional chart) way before you think about adding functionality.

Cheers,

GO

For the launch of the new site we did a very basic (quick) implementation of the graph. It only shows rock climbs (no bouldering etc). When I get some time I'll work on expanding it.

Hi again. Guess I wasn't clear. When I say more accurate, i mean it's not altogether correct, i don't mean it's missing additional functionality (like adding boulder problems). Again, it seems more important to make it work as is before adding new functionality (like boulder problems).

For example: it appears that the cutoff in my chart is three of a category. For example, my two 5.7 redpoints do not show up, while my three 5.10a redpoints do. Okay, so with that as a baseline, here are two quick errors I found. I'm sure you could locate plenty more:

I have three 5.10c redpoints. None show on the chart.
I have three 5.12b hangdogs. None show on the chart.

Cheers,

GO

I noticed this problem too. I changed three of the 5.11b's I've done from top rope to seconding, and now my histogram only goes up to 5.10d. There were 5.11's that I didn't even touch and now they won't show up.

Maybe because seconding 5.11s is considered doing 5.10b?
