I have the Masters of Stone V, and Dean Potter walks a 120' line, which they put down as the world record....either way, its pretty f'in impressive

he also solos el cap in a day, and theres a tribute to dan osman

theres only a bit of slackin in this vid though, are there any decent climbing dvds with more slacking?

120' thats it for a world record? Why hasn't some of the other big slackers out there had their big lines recorded?

Heck, I've done 100-110' lines (non-highlines). I'd think Shawn or some of the other highliner extrodinares out there have done 200+ if not 300' lines.

I guess it ain't officially a world record till someone from the governing body of Guiness records.

Dean Potter was tied in on the 118' highline he did. It was the world record highline, but Metoliusshawn has done a longer one. I am not sure how long it was.

Metolus Shawn is one of the best slackliners out there. I know he did do a 160 foot highline successfully. Also, he rigged a 220 foot highline, but unsuccessfully walked it. Deans 120 footer was quite impressive at the time when slacklining was just being evolved. Now limits are being pushed further, and I know a 300+ line was also rigged and walked by dean. thats what i hear anyway...

Damians line at 405'5" is almost certainly the longest line ever walked... and for the simple reason that webbing is normally supplied by 91m (300') spools in the US or 100m (328') in Canada and the EU. Damians line came from Gunther Braun of Slackstar, Germany... and was supplied as test webbing to my friend Andreas. This was apparently the same spec of webbing used by Heinz Zak, Dean Potter and Chongo for a ~100m (low) line they rigged in Austria last summer (I don't know how many people walked it?). Andreas had walked 102m last I heard from him and probably longer now! - here he is showing us how it's done on a 70m line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTY3J2wTBe0
