So I have climbing fever and am saving up for a big climbing trip for December-January... I would love to go to France but am worried that it may be too cold/rainy... I am completely open to suggestions... Thanks so much!
btw I am looking for bouldering, trad, but mainly sport areas... Climb around 11s, partner climbs 12s... thanks!!

Best climbing on earth durring those months is in Thailand. Rali, Krabi, etc.
Spain is also nice that time of year.

Its pretty good in the desert around then. Indian creek, Moab area etc. If you're into that kinda stuff.

southern europe would be just fine. southern spain, portugal, south of france, southern italy, greece, islands...

I'd go with Spain/France.
I would think the Gorge du Tarn/Jonte would be good at that time. Anyone want to back me up on that? I also think it would probably meet the grades that you are seeking very easily.

Costa derada is just awsome.
There are these awsome "refugios", basically wee hostels for climbers, or you can camp outside for cheap but still use the toilet facilities, and buy fairly cheap food there. most are run by climbers, too. Rockfax do an excellant guide.
El Chorro is ment to be incradible, too, but I havn't been there personally.

Check out Riglos or Costa Blanca.
Riglos is a small town that is pretty easy to get to. Fly into Zaragoza, rent a car with Europe car (or catch the bus). It is just outside of a town called Huesca. Really good conglomerate here! The guide is sold locally at the Refugio. It takes a bit to get used to the rock, but once you do, it is the best climbing you will ever do!
Costa Blanca is really cool too. I was in a town called Calpe for most of my trip. The Penon de Lfach was beautiful! There is lots of really good limestone climbing in this area. You want the rockfax guide for this area.

You can have a good time in southern Europe if you have good luck with the weather. If you are unlucky, you will sit in the snowfall. Happened to me several times, even as far south as Valencia.
In my opinion, Railay used to be a good spot a couple of years ago. Now, it is too crowded in my opinion. My vote goes to South Africa. World-class climbing (sport, trad and boulder), beuatiful landscape, great food & wine, nice people, short distances from one are to the next etc.

Watch out, Riglos can be very cold and rainy in December/January.

Jont/Tarn can be good, but it's also fairly high, so it could also be cold!
Provence (orgon, volx, st leger, orpiere), cote d'azur (peillon, castillon, turbie), langedoque (montpellier, russan, seynes)
I've done christmas time in Siurana, good weather, but a week later snowstorms. Everything is possible.
North italy (arco, finale) can be cold, allthough i've done amazing good weeks aruond newyear in finale.
Costa blanca and around murcia (are both the same?) should be good, mallorca maybe
and of course kalymnos!

best climbing spot for Nov-Jan is HAMPI in south india. is a bouldering haven on earth.

At this time of the year it is probably the best thing to fly to Cape Town and to climb in the Cape Provinces. Plenty of climbs for months to stay. PM for more information.

Except during the holiday season unless you like being part of a big crowd and packed planes, hotels, bungalows, beaches, restaurants, etc.
Early December can be one of the slowest times of the year and the weather is usually perfect.

Remember, A mediocre choss pile is always more appealing if it's located in some far away, exotic country.
Simple human psychology!
Whenever I'm in another country climbing or skiing, the locals are always baffled why I left Colorado. The grass IS greener on the other side of the fence I guess....
