So first off, I ordered Bele Ellinger II 60m of 10.2mm dynamic non-dry rope on sale for $99. They sent me the same thing, but Dry treated rope. Both core treated and to the sheith. WOO!!!!!
Second.... I went to REI to get my crash pad, The Cheap Bastard. It was on sale for $99.99. I had a 20% off coupon as well and got the pad for $86.00. But the best part....I breed Poison Dart frogs, and I sold 2 of them yesterday for $60. So I only payed $26 out of pocket for that $125.00 pad. WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I will post about the rope as soon as I use it. It will be next weekend on the 12th & 13th that I use it. So I will post about it on Monday the 14th.

Sweet. I was just at the National Zoo this weekend and they had a whole exhibit crawling with those poison dart frogs. It was pretty cool.
Who do you sell them to?

This is a$$uming you got in on that backcountry.com deal....If you in fact paid $99 for your non-dry rope and they sent you a dry-treated rope then you probably ordered the dry-treated in the first place. The non-dry ones were selling for $83.
Mine came a couple days ago. It looks and feels nice but won't get used until next weekend. 
Poison dart frogs? What the hell?

Better watch out, I hear if you leave rope near poison dart frogs that it reduces the durability of the rope.

You did get lucky - they aren't supposed to honor the 20% off coupon on sale-price items. My GF tried the same trick with an on-sale jacket today and got denied.

Actually, yes, he's lucky they honored the coupon at all. I used that coupon today on a new rope bag, and it specifically says "20% off any full priced item". They aren't supposed to discount sale items.
So...yeah, I guess he did. Hate to say it.

First off, the frogs arent poisonous in captivity.
Actually, how I got the 20% off to work was a bit of a story, so I cut it short. I was exchanging my harness which was a full priced item. It was the harness package for like $89. She gave me the 20% on the harness and that gave me like $18 credit. So thats how I got the good price on the crash pad.
Oh and back to the rope. Yep, I just a retard. I did order the Dry rope. I'm just didnt see it. I coulda sworn it said non-dry when I was looking at it. Oh well. I could care less. I got an even better rope for less than a normal costing non-dry rope. So either way I am happy with the purchase.
I'll be hitting up Devil's Lake this Saturday and Sunday. I'll post the rope performance after that.

That's what I suspected regarding your rope, still a hell of a deal. Like I said mine came last week and it feels nice, it'll get the test this coming weekend at Shelf Road.

Beal doesn't make non-dry ropes. Their "standard" finish is a dry treated sheath or "Drycover".

You did get the "Golden Dry" as a free extra, which gives you the dry treated core. But unless you are ice climbing, its not going to make any difference. If its raining enough to soak a dry coated sheath, AND saturate the core, you probably won't be staying on the rock anyway.

Thanks, I didn't know that about Beal ropes. Still, it wasn't a free extra as I paid 14 more for the Golden Dry vs. their standard treament.
Hopefully I won't have to test that dry treatment this weekend.

I used mine this weekend (the $84 version, whatever the dry rating is on that one). It worked great. Good feel to it and nice and supple. It twisted a bit but that is likely my fault. The only drawback is the color. Teal and pink.......hope it gets dirty soon.
Great deal though, I like the rope so far (only put it up on 4 climbs).
