I am planning on taking my management team to the Phantom Spires this weekend for some climbing on granite. We will be having lunch and climbing all day saturday, so if you are there as well, say hello. Maybe we can share top ropes as well. Does anyone know how easy it is to walk around the back and establish top rope anchors? I believe most anchors are constructed off of bolts already in the rock, so I will just be bringing locking carabiners and nylon extenders. Thank you.

Whoa there, cowboy, this is kind of a locals and serious climber type crag. I'm not sure you should bring a group there just to toprope. Plus, you pretty much need to lead to get the rope up on those climbs. I doubt anybody's going to do that for some corporate lunch group just so they can hog up all the climbs (even if they'll be the easiest ones ). Good luck?

Uhhh. It's a spire. It doesn't have a back side you can walk up.

Thank you for the input everyone. If there is no way to walk up the back, I will climb up the 5.5 route, and establish the top rope set up that way. 5.5 is pretty easy, it should not be a problem. Thank you for the Consumnes River Gorge suggestion. That is a great climbing area, my team and I have been there before. We have also done Mt. Diablo. Our next location will be the great Yosemite walls!
