Hi Gang,
Anyone know when the MSR Reactor is coming out and/or what the hold up is? It was first due in April, then May, now June - is June still Spring? Are they having QA problems or supply problems or what?

According to the Cascade Designs rep, they are supposed to start shipping at the end of May. They have been making a few small tweaks before they finally send them out. The rep had a prototype and it looked pretty nice.

I checked with MSR via e-mail a few weeks ago and the rep essentially said they were tentatively due out the beginning of June. I promised a friend one of these for his birthday so that he'd have it in Alaska, but they never released it... bummer! It was really ironic because his stove broke as soon as he got off the plane! :)

They've been having mass-manufacturing problems with the stove.
In their first run of 60, very few of the stoves met the performance specs that MSR has set out for the stove. It's just difficult to mass-manufacture.
What I was told by my rep was they were being hand-built and about 20 a day were being turned out. This is going on while they tweak the manufacturing process, and some key components to make it possible to mass-manufacture.
I want one, but shop employees are low on the totem pole- I was told probably not until stock levels reached "comfortable" levels, which could be anywhere from August to January. Also, the demo model my rep had was one of nine in existence, according to him.
I want one bad!
