Anyone else heading up to the Lost Crag on Monday? It would be cool to get a large group together. I'd definately be up for it and be willing to show everyone the way in. Just a thought. Any takers?

That would be most excellent. I'll give you a call when it gets closer.

I will be climbing all day most likely on Friday at Panther and a good portion of the day on Monday. If anyone wants to join you are more than welcome. As an aside my one friend who no longer lives in the state went ahead and posted the place on the list of routes. I have added a good portion of the routes. There are still more to add but I will try and do this all very soon.

Plans changed and we can't get to Lost Crag unfortunately, I am definitely going to try taking you up on your offer sometime though.

I'm in depending upon the weather. The forecast looks a little iffy considering the amount of tree cover at Lost Crag. Do you want to meet up somewhere else if we get a good amount of rain between now and then?

Edit: I don't know that any of my regular partners are free. Let me know what time you're thinking of getting there.

I firmed up plans with two of my partners. We should be leaving Pittsburgh shortly after 9:00 a.m. Unfortunately, one friend has to be back mid-afternoon. We're currently planning on hitting Lost Crag, but may have to change things up do to time constraints.

Ended up going to Lost Crag after all. I was worried about rain but it ended up being a beautiful day, even though some of the routes were still seeping. Also got to meet markc and friends which was cool.

Upper approach was easy to find using the directions posted above, thanks to all who made the effort of putting the cairns together! It wouldn't have been nearly as easy without them. I'm still trying to decide which way in I like better, though.

Marlene and I wound up going to the Red River Gorge. That was the first time for both of us down there. Had an awesome weekend, with some hard climbing for 2 days. Definitely different than what I'm used to (Seneca, The Gunks, The New).

Although pizza will never taste the same after having Miguel's pizza. It was hands down the best pizza I've ever tasted.

I'll be heading back down there for Rocktoberfest this fall.

Pies & Pints' pizza is damn good but does not compare to Miguel's. Plus the atmosphere at that place is awesome.

It was nice meeting you, even if we didn't get a chance to climb near each other. Getting to Lost Crag was an adventure, as the police and fire department had the main road through town blocked off. I was sure on the hike in that we weren't going to climb a thing, but there were a number of dry (or dry enough) routes.

I'm headed to Panther's Caves saturday or I might have taken you up on that. My boss wants to learn about rockclimbing so I ofered to take him. He owns a tree service so rope systems and knots shouldn't be all that difficult for him.

Anyone else goin out this weekend???? I think I have sunday free...

Are you looking at the same forecasts as me?
http://www.wunderground.com/...Forecast?query=15232

Looks like rain all weekend.

I would go out if I could expect to climb. As it is, I think I will end up going into a gym

I"m just hoping for the best... I haven't been out since I moved back here from AZ... and that was almost three months ago. I don't think it'll be too serious either, mostly just teaching my boss the basics.

ok, I am going to plan on going to the climbing wall on Sunday afternoon if you change your mind.

I can understand being antsy to get out. I am experiencing that myself.

I will be trying hard to make it out the following weekend.

I got out to Breakneck today with one partner. A couple guys were there when we arrived, but we spent the bulk of the day by ourselves. I guess the heat or the threat of storms scared people off, but we had a fun day out.

The one weekend I don't go to Panther cause I am working somebody else goes out. Go figure. I hope you had a good day. The weather held off should have been nice.
One more month of call then more climbing. And there was much rejoicing.

A cpl. of my froends were going to panther today but I went for an hour bike ride then went down to the mill. At noon I was the only climber there. I got a solid two hours of climbing up and down the rock. One guy was there for half an hour and four ppl came as I was leaving. It was a nice day.

Where else do you climb, grampa? It seems funny using that grampa, most folks on here are my kids age.

Did you see a John and Ann at panther?

I saw a few different people climbing yesterday, but I don't really know who they were.

As for my name, i'm really 27, but my previous climbing partners and non-climbing frinds used to call me "grampa" because of my cautious nature when climbing and the fact that I like going to bed early so I can wake up early.

glad to see someone other than myself if using the place for climbing. It really got torn up during memorial day Weekend from the stinking ATV riders. If you need someone who can stay a litte longer in the day or just a partner I am 20 min away and alot of times I can do it on the spur of the moment. What areas of panther were you climbing by the way?

I dunno what you would call them, but we started off on one of the inside walls, then moved out to the face that looks towards the river. I would love to get someone to go climbing with, I usually have saturday-sunday off, though sometimes I work on sat.

I"ll deffinately get on here sooner if I know that I'm going to be in the area, or I'll drop you a PM.

I've recently been developing a very extensive bouldering area close to Connellsville, Dunbar area. So far about 50 or so problems ranging from V1 to V5+. It could very well have about as much bouldering as Coopers Rock. On rock of the exact quality. There are blocks with routes to be done as well. The approach in is about 5 min. with newly groomed trails leading to the currently developed areas. I'm in the process of mapping and making the information available online. I figured I'd make it public info. so that others can start to enjoy this amazing area during development. If you'd like to check it out, get in touch.
