Hello climbers, Is it possible to get guided up El Capitan in Yosemite? I saw it for the first time as a climber not long ago and know I have to climb it. I would like to do the climb with my VP and preferably in three days although I remain open to doing what is necessary to achieve this goal. I'd like to hire the best, since I am likely not capable of leading the route. I would like to top rope as much as possible, and video our ascent. I need to know what are the cost, permit and reservation factors so that I can schedule and plan accordingly. I already have most of the gear that I imagine we will need. If you can recommend a guide service or individual, it would be appreciated.

Apparantly he led alot of the pitches. I saw an episode where he was leading pitches on a different wall, not with a guide but with his 2 friends.

YMS officially guides the park I don't agree with the way our government dishes out allowances such as this. Check your messages.

I went to yosemite couple of yeras ago, and even I saw many kind of guided excursions available in the buleting board of both climbing stores, I read nothing like that. Anyway, climbing "El Cap" to the top is not an easy thing. If you are just used to "top rope" your endurance capacity and the psicological aspect of big wall climbing could afect you at "El Cap". About reservations, you will only need it if you are not stayin in Camp4. The cost for the night in Camp4 is about US$5 the night (you`ll need a tent of course).

Big wall guiding cost several thousand $ and most likely, they do not let you lead. They fix rope and you only jug.It is also illegal for any one else to do any commercial business or guiding in Yosemite other than DNC which owns the mountaineering school. If you advertise yourself on the side as a guide, you will pay fine.
