Hello,

I'm going to be spending a little time around Omegna Italy (just west of lago Maggiore and northwest of Milan) and would like information on climbing areas in that area. I've heard good things about Simplon-dorf and Ponte Brolla but can't find much detailed info on the web. Are there any other good areas within an hour or so drive? I've been to Cresciano which was really fun. I'm interested in sport, trad and bouldering.

If anyone has beta on good climbing areas in this region please let me know. Also guide book names would be helpful too. Thanks!

Phil

Lots of things around Ponte Brolla. Sorry, don't know any good resources on the web.

Try the SAC climbing guide "Ticino e Moesano" by Glauco Cugini, or "Plaisir Sud" by www.filidor.ch .

Schweis Extrem est or Schweis plaisir sud should have plenty of info - check http://www.filidor.ch to order or the local shops. Otherwise N Italy has lots to offer as well, like Val di Mello...

Due to problems with the landowner, CLIMBING IN SIMPLON VILLAGE IS PROHIBITED. Sad but true.
