hello, any idea on what i should by, i know i need basics, harnes, chalk back, shoes, and belay clip, but what brand, at what reasonable prices, can i get these things under $200? thanks to anyone who responds

shoes - five-ten harness and everything else - Black Diamond or Metolius. If you go cheap on the shoes you can get it under $200. Try RockPillars or Bufo

you should come up to camp hill and go to wildware and try on shoes...that's the first thing you need to do...gimme a buzz when i get back from idaho...

www.barrabes.com has the best prices i've seen so far. shoes were my first buy. if you boulder, a crash pad is also important. at least, thats how i started peace

ACME, and climbaxe have some chep gear, but i would look at gear express first. They have the best prices and really quick shipping. DaggerX

feet-theyre all different, and well ...so are shoes, so the only tried and true way is to go to your local shop and see what fits.

agreed, get up to your local climbing store, try on shoes, get the right sive, shape, and then go onine and see if you can get em for cheeper. ------------ cheers!! ~mark
