Evening all. Spent the better part of today at work screwing around in Second Life. It's almost as good a time waster as RC.com. Huge bandwidth hog though so I probably won't do it at work much. And don't have XP at home so I can't do it here. But I DO have Glenfidditch 12, which is better than most other things

Still, a 12y.o. scotch that's as good or better than many other 15 and 18y.o.'s? Something to be said for that! (i just brought a fresh bottle o 12 home from Cali last week, can hardly wait to unscrew the cap) BTW, nice pic there 'biner.

MMMM And yes, I said pint glass. I got it free last week at a beer sampling. It's for Woodchuck draft cider. I have three kids, other than the glass bottle the scotch came out of, it is the only glass vessel I own. So sue me.

We LOVED it, but have a difficult time finding it in SLC for some silly reason. I really like the bottle though... something about the lip of it is really pleasing to sip water from. I've got this plan to make a leather cozy for it, perhaps to give to a GC guide friend who has sworn off drinking from plastic containers. I'll shoot a pic when it's finished, let ya know how it turns out.

Well, extra celebrations for us! Just found out that my brother came into some money and might be able to afford to come home for Christmas after all. (He's away at Grad school in Lincoln, Nebraska and was pretty bummed that he wasn't going to make it) Now we just ahve to find hime a good fare from Linoln, NB (or close) to Providence, RI ( or close.) Beers on the house!

Having myself a nice hook and ladder backdraft brown: Just got back from blockbuster, got Pirates III. I'm doing the online thing with 2 instore exchanges for $10 a month, so I just waltzed in, swapped em out, and feel like I got the movie for free!

Something to be said for that! one thing I love doing with our whisky society is vertical tasting. it's amazing how often younger whiskies from the same distillery can be miles better than the 20 - 30yr range, but nobody wants to believe it until they try them side by side. Benriach is a classic example. and I have to ask, is everyone on this site drinking shit whisky by choice, or is the selection just that bad in the states?

Necessity is the mother of... compromise?
