Wow. Another festival, another collection of good times and great stories to tell. I'll put together a compendium of the craziness, crafted with care and collaborated with my compatriots to correctly convey the convention of climbers, but for now, I'll dump the alliteration and give you the short version: Ouray, 08, by the numbers. Booze and beer consumed: Lots. Snow on the ice: Couple feet. Ice under the snow: Some. Nekkid people in the hot tub: One or two. Money spent: Too much. Hot chicks with ice tools: Hubba hubba. Funny looking dudes decked out in Colts jerseys, pimp hats, and dorky sunglasses: Two of 'em. Fights: None. Videos on You Tube that got played over and over: One, anyway. Women who shouted out, in the throes of passion, "Oh, RON!!!!": One. Fun: A cornucopia of it. Guys from Phoenix who didn't want to leave: One.

You should take a pic of that painting and post up. I'm curious what a $400 painting of crampons will look like!!!

Oh goodness!! This was a fun trip! The highlight for me was learning how to mixed climb! I can't wait till I have the skillz to get to the top of Chinese watter torture, instead of just playing around on the bottom of it! To all the ladies that want to learn how to climb mixed routes, I must say that Carolyn Parker is a great teacher. I'm also totally excited that I know how to do a V-thread. I need to give a shot out to the wonderful designated drivers (Marcy and Betsy)! Thank you for letting me be one of the drunk crazies. I think I've earned a turn of being the DD next year.

If I was a baller like you Reno I would have bid on it! I really wanted the helmet that was being auctioned off, but it was a bit too pricey for my blood. I'm going to buy one from the artist. He has a site where you can check out his work http://jessecrockart.com

It was good to see some of you folks again, and meet some new ones. I only wish I'd had more time to talk with some of you! The Ice fest seems to be the time when all sorts of folks come out of the wood work! josh

(pint glass fiasco) of 2008. a close friend from ouray had told us earlier in the week that the clean up was pretty bad after the party so i wonder if that is the reason. but who cares....that was WEAK. great pics, btw...but more skin to win, bay-bee.

I guess you guys just were not funny enough to get a pint glass from the Sportiva folks.... (although I really needed one with the fest on it) at least I was drinking out of glass. I am definately going to direct Jesse to this page. I am sure that he is excited that the paintings went over so well. I am looking forward to seeing what he does for the poster next year. In reply to reese and reno, I think I may have just hurt myself laughing. Please provide a warning in the future. It was great to see a lot of you after lurking RC for so long. I will be sure to keep an eye out for next year.
