In July 2007, Libby Sauter became the first woman in the world to cross the Lost Arrow Spire Highline. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA3A5RQB1Lk

Pretty sweet but I don't think she was the first to do it. There's a picture in my local gym of the first lady walking it taken before the video was shot. I'll have to check out the caption they wrote above the picture for specific details. Either way badass.

I just spoke with Joel, an employee at Rock Sport Indoor Climbing Facility in Queensbury, NY. He described to me the photo "dta95b7r" wrote about above. He said it's a red line, with a girl wearing a red t-shirt, and she has red hair. Also, he said there's a guy at the end of the line wearing a red jacket with dark hair. Sound familiar? It's a photo of Libby. Evidently the owner of the gym was there when she walked, and he snapped the photo himself.

The story continues... I just got a message from Joel. He said the owner did not take the photo, but that he downloaded it from one of the online forums.

I remember meeting her in Camp 4 this summer. I was all bummed because I had just destroyed my knee. I got all excited for her. I flew to get surgery before she walked it. I'm very glad to hear she did it!
