i've been there tons but not since i started climbing. i remember as a kid jumping around on the huge rocks in the park but i am just wondering if they are worth a damn for bouldering? anyone done it? seen anyone else on them? thanks

I took a day off of school last year with a buddy and we went to Central Park to climb. There are about four different boulders we found. Three are downtown and the fourth was uptown( we took the subway). I think you can get maps on www.trails-edge.com. Rat Rock and Cat Arrette were the best we found. Watch out for the Feds though. It was just after 9/11 when we were there but we got questioned by some FBI guys.

the bouldering in central park is excellent. rat and cat rock near the southwest corner of the park are the most popular. there is soe hard bouldering at the worthless boulder near the northwest corner of the park. the ramble has some scattered bouldering.
fort tryon park has great bouldering with fewer people around.
