Is the first week of June a bit early for a trip to Rumney based on seepage? We will be on the easier climbs.
Thanks for any comments, we have a week on East Coast (needs to be easy drive from New Jersey) and were going to split between Rumney and Gunks.

You'll have more problems with crowds and bugs than the seepage. Theirs plenty of rock so don't worry about the seepage, unless there is a lot of rain in the forecast for that week. The only other thing I'd worry about is peregrine falcon closures. They're usually in June or July, I forget which, maybe both. It doesn't effect the whole area though.

If the weather stays the way it's been the last few days, then I'm probably gonna try and get up there on Monday.

Carabiner96, what are your camping plans this weekend? I've heard that the campsite across the street is a pond and am unfamiliar with other camping options out there. Let me know as I'm heading up on saturday and would like to stay the night if I can.

Hey strong, sorry i missed your post. But, there is a campground in Campton, NH, exit 26 on 93 (head south on 93 from plymouth) its like, 2 miles east once you get off of the exit. Site is open year round but you have to park by the gate during off season, and its $20 per site up to 9 people which is cheaper than the place across the street. Veyr quiet, very beautiful. Its pay your own system, so I guess you could get away with not paying anything, but that would be poor form.

Carabiner, it's actually exit 28 and you drive north from Plymouth.

As far as seepage, there are only certain routes that you have to wait to dry off. There are hundreds more that get sun and dry off very quickly.

The camping across the street usually opens after Memorial day, or at least when the ground dries out.

In June, like someone said, the biggest problems are crowds and bugs, especially at the easier walls (for the crowds, not the bugs. Bugs don't care how hard you climb).
