Hey all im gonna be heading down to New Zealand in December and first of all im freaking stoked but second is who where and how. if any one has any good beta on were to climb but more important what kind of rack to bring if any. any help is appreciated also if you live down there or are gonna be down there and want to do some climbing i would love that too. im going to be down there for about 8 months and will be in wellington for the first halfish of my trip then hopefully on the south island but who knows. Tell me about it im still kinda in shock about the whole thing. The best part is i have no plans or obligations while im down there so im down for whatever, so anyone with any good advice or opportunities hit me up!!

I can tell you lots of places to go and things to see. Sadly I can't comment on the climbing though.

I'm gonna be in NZ from Feb-Jun, lookin to climb sport and trad, preferrably. bouldering is just okay. I'll probably be living in Christchurch. let me know if you come down to the region.

yea man any climbing i can do will be awesome but i for sure want to get some trad climbing in as it is my bread and butter but im torn on if i should bring my rack or a half rack and if so what to bring...

christchurch is a s good a place a sany to base yourself. local crags for the trad and bouldering. easy enough to get to the mountains for the bigger stuff. get hold of 'south island rock' http://www.southislandrock.co.nz/ as a guide book. should give you a better idea of what to do cragging wise.

bump So i have finally arrived!! after about two weeks of living out of a tiny ass car i have finally landed and settled in wellington. from what i have found so far this place is kind of lacking in the climbing department but i would love for someone to come along and show me otherwise. so whos down here and want to climb with me??? anyone? bueller.... bueller....
