Dave Macleod has done some pretty incredible stuff. What was the previous one that you saw? E11? Yes that's the one, did not find it as good in comparison.

Seeing that I just bought a house this last January I received nothing for my climbing. I did receive a compound miter saw and a table saw. time to build a campus board. My 16 y/o son will be receiving his first nuts, a bunch of slings and several biners. He's stoked about climbing this year.

Let's see... I got a battery-less flashlight from my Grandma, and I got a check for $200 from my mum, and I got a down vest from LL Bean from my pop, and I got a "On Writing" book by Steven King from my other Grandma, and a check from my Aunt, and I got a Best Buy GC from my Uncle, [deep breath], and, and, and...some cookies!

I scored big time. It was another festivus miracle! I got me a new pair of Evolv Hera's Mountain Hardware Base liner micro fleece gloves PMI leather belayer gloves with a reinforced palm to wear over my micro fleece gloves An aluminum water bottle A warm backcountry.com base layer shirt And these awesome North Face micro fleece / soft fleece lined pants which are cute AND functional: I got tons of other cool non-climbing stuff too. Josh didn't make out so bad, either.

Wow! It sounds like Santa was good to you guys this year! He must not have been watching THAT closely. I'm just starting to build my rack, so hubby got me a set of cams (.5-3.0) and a set of tri-cams (.5-2.0). He also got me a hang board and an under desk heater for work.

Daughter Paige painted a painting of a cliff bar package, put me as the climber and labeled the flavor as "Gail's Dyno Bar". I will post a scanned image as sson as I get it scanned. It's amazing! Hubby bought me a new gym rope (60M, 10mm)...I cut it in half and make two ropes. Should get me through the next 18 months. Didn't need any other climbing stuff. Got a gift certificate for a massage, a gift certificate for a car detail, cross country skis, boots and poles, very cool shirt (non climbing), step stool (I am short), a vessel sink for the bathroom vanity, ummm...I can't remember what else I got. My most precious gift of all was spending christmas with Mitch and my three kids at a small cabin in french creek state park.

Patagonia Alpine Guide pant from my wife and a pair of Mountain Equipment Co-op Blast mitts from my kids. Extremely happy with both. Bought a BD Raven; gift from me to me. My brother gave me money to buy him a pair of La Sportiva backpacking boots. Of course I wrapped em up and put them under the tree as a gift to him. Best gift I ever gave him.

I always cry when someone chops a brand new perfectly good rope in half to use in the gym. What a waste.

Gym ropes get beat on where you take falls, 5-15 feet from the ends. If you have a whole 60, you can successively chop the ends down and make use of the entire rope. If you cut it in half right at the beginning, it is just long enough to use and you can't cut it at all. When it's worn it's done. You've lost much of the usable life from your rope.
