I was wondering if anyone has a certain song they play to psyche them up for certain things...like for me I listen to "Hustlers Anthem" by Busta Ryhmes.

Either that or some Bob chill music and light up a blunt.

So. the question is, whats your jam?

You mean for climbing?

I like the Dead, Beck, random stuff that's not too crazy. I don't really like being "psyched up" to climb. I need to be relaxed.

I need to get psyched up sometimes for really exposed climbs or when I get nervous. I can usually play a song and say screw it and just climb.

When I get scared I start to hum or sing... usually it is either the Pirates of the Caribbean theme or Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.

Yea...Im not really into music for climbing. I think it takes a certain amount of quietness inside myself to focus in that way. which is funny cause Im a musician and I love music. When I skateboard though....Rage, Foo fighters, metallica, etc.....

IPODs and Speakers at the boulders are the lamest things ever!

Crystal Method, Paul Okenfold(sp?). Trance music always puts me in an akward mood that seems to make climbing more comfortable. I think it's getting those beats stuck in my head and going over them again and again on a route.

No music for me, I like to have a few quite moments before I climb, music would just be a distraction.

Pirate song is much better then Lucy. If your scared wouldn't you sing something like this by being nervous.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds...
Lucy FALLING from the sky with diamonds...

the sungam connections sounds like a political thriller novel. I probably wouldn't read it though.

yeah I don't use pump up music for climbing. I'm already wired enough as it is.

for hard workouts:

yo la tengo - pass the hatchet, I think I'm goodkind
built to spill - goin' against your mind
