I'm very very new to climbing and just looking for some people around my area to help me. I have been to the closest climbing gym to try and get my belay test so I can climb there but never can get anyone that gives them. I guess I'm looking for someone to teach\help me and my wife. We live in Albertville , AL between Huntsville and Birmingham. And just looking for people close to climb with.

If I were you I'd pick up a few good books about setting up top rope anchors and head out to Sandrock. There are a ton of places there to set up TR and practice practice practice.

If you go to seclimbers.org there is a list of books that could help you. Also, the SCC does plenty of events throughout the year and it is a great way to get involved with the community and meet people. Good luck!
