So im looking for away to maintain my gripping strength while I will be away from climbing for several weeks (months). Do those blue donuts, grip masters, hand thingys do anything? Do they help?

the blue donut isn't good for much more than warming up in the car on the way to the crag. The heavy gripmasters are ok, but you might be better off investing in some rock rings, you can sling them up pretty much anywhere, they're slightly less boring, and you'll see better results

I'd vote rock rings as well. You should check out this guy:http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/grip_saver_plus.html

I have the strongest grip master in my car. My parents are PT's and they are always bringing stuff home. The only thing it is good for is to keep me from beating my head against the steering wheel in traffic. They are only advertised as climbing tools because the climbing mags are too poor not to have them advertise in the back.

The Metolius thing is a great idea, but you can go buy a tennis ball and some nice rubber bands for about half the price.
