Hello, Any suggestions on where we can stay when in Horse Pens 40? Its a family trip with a kid, from overseas so no camping gear. Online search has only resulted in Hotels in Gadsden and since Iīve never been to this area I donīt have a clue of how covenient staying there would be. Thanks!

Gadsden is not very far from HP40, but you could enquire with the Schultz family about the availability of a couple cabis they have on site. They are nothing fancy, but they are shielded from the elements. If you want comfy and cozy, then I would opt for the hotel in Gadsden, but if you want convenience to the boulder field, I'd choose the cabin. Either way, you'll have a terrific time at HP40. It is some of THE BEST bouldering in the Southeast.

Gadsden hotels are only about a 20minute drive, and it's easy to get to HP40 from there - I stayed one night at the Comfort Suites? - there are also restaurants right there by the hotel. I seem to remember a Ruby Tuesdays within wlaking distance of the hotel. Edit: There's also a movie theatre close to there if it rains or kiddo gets bored in the evening.
