For those of you who have bouldered in SB, what is the best area? I have seen pictures of Lizard's Mouth, and my jaw almost dropped. Thanks for anything.

Hopefully some one else will respond as well because I haven't been back to SB in about 5 years. Lizard's Mouth is awesome & easy to find Brick Yard was really taking off when I left & the Play ground has some cool stuff All three of theses areas are pretty close to each other. I so miss living there and going to these spots! Have FUN!!

Lizard's Mouth, Brickyard, Red Rocks, Painted Cave, and Skofield Park....all are great places....with Lizard's and Brickyard being on the top of the list. All are sandstone, with the exception of Red Rocks, which is something volcanic in origin. Your best bet is to take a look at "Rock Climbing Santa Barbara & Ventura Counties" by Steve Edwards. It's a great guidebook, and documents each of these areas well. Hope this helps, Marc
