I am headed to Georgia tomorrow for a few days. Does anyone know if there is any climbing indoors or out? I would love to check it out (although I cannot climb right now). Anyone?

At first I was confused, then I realized you mean the country.

You should have said something earlier! Then I may have been able to put you in touch with some friends. If you PM me, I can give you the contact info of one friend-- she is not a climber, but she is really into outdoors stuff (and she works as an international travel agent, so her English is pretty good). So, in terms of climbing, unless things changed drastically, there won't be anything like a developed climbing area, and defninitely not sport climbing (i'm assuming you aren't bringing trad gear), but there is definitely climbing there... hard to explain locations, etc. without maps...

Lena, thanks for your response. I still can't climb as I am recovering from my foot (feet) surgery. I was interested in seeing the areas.

I wondered about your toes and climbing so soon... If you have time, go to Botanical Garden. It isn't like any Botanic garden that I've seen here, more like a cliffy wilderness area with a small section that is more groomed/planted. Good hiking trails, if your feet are up to it, and really pretty... my Dad used to climb there. But it won't be like Gunks, it would more like small sections of cliff here and there, waterfalls, etc. Not the best time of the year to visit a botanic garden... but OTOH, if things are the same as before, it should be free in winter.
